The Easiest Easter White Chocolate Bark with M&M’s

03/20/2018 By Jenn Leave a Comment

I love when the Easter colors hit the stores! The pastel colors are just so fun and vibrant to welcome spring.

Looking for a sweet treat for Easter? Look no further! This is The Easiest Easter White Chocolate Bark with M&M's and sprinkles.

Even though it does not feel like spring yet, I can not wait for a little warmer weather. Who else is over winter this year and ready for spring?

The Easiest Easter White Chocolate Bark with M&M's

The weather was a little dreary and that is when I love being in the kitchen the most. This weekend my daughter and I made Easter White Chocolate Bark.

The Easiest Easter White Chocolate Bark with M&M's

I love making bark, it’s so simple and kids can really get in on the action when it comes to decorating.

My kids could not get enough of this Easter White Chocolate Bark. Bri added her most favorite toppings M&M’s and sprinkles. Simple yet SO delicious!

The Easiest Easter White Chocolate Bark with M&M's

We love how the pastel colors popped on the white chocolate, making it a delicious Easter sweet treat.

Normally I would use whatever chocolate I had on hand but instead, I found almond bark at Target a few weeks ago. This white chocolate was to die for! From now on I think I will always make bark with this chocolate.

The Easiest Easter White Chocolate Bark with M&M's

It was easy to melt and decadent. Even my daughter who is not a fan of white chocolate loved it!

Confession – it did not make it through the weekend because it was that good.

Valentines Popcorn Cupid Crunch Mix

Every Friday we have a popcorn and movie night at our house as a family.

Valentines Day Chocolate Popcorn Cupid Crunch Mix Recipe

My kiddos love when a holiday is approaching because I will surprise them with extra special holiday-themed treats. Last year I made this Valentines Popcorn Cupid Crunch Mix and they LOVED it!

Valentines Day Chocolate Popcorn Cupid Crunch Mix Recipe

Since the Valentines popcorn was such a hit, I figured I would share it with you. It literally comes together in minutes and is SO delicious. This such a great way to turn up the volume on your popcorn and make it a sweet treat.

Valentines Popcorn Cupid Crunch Mix Recipe Valentines day treats

The perfect combo of salty and sweet and you can follow my recipe for the Valentines Popcorn Cupid Crunch Mix or add what you have on hand for a Valentines treat.

In this Valentines Popcorn Cupid Crunch Mix recipe, I did use a buttery popcorn. I think it complimented the sweet chocolates I added. But this was a preference you can use a non-buttery popcorn if you’d like.

Valentines Popcorn Cupid Crunch Mix Recipe

Ingredients:

    • 1 Bag of Microwave Popcorn or you could pop your own
    • 1/2 c. Semi-Sweet Chocolate
    • Valentines Sprinkles
    • 1 C Valentines M&M’s
    • 1 C. Mini Marshmallows

Directions:

  1. Pop up your popcorn either in the microwave or stove top for fresh kernels
  2. While your popcorn is cooling melt 1/2 of a cup of your semi-sweet chocolates. If you are using a microwave do this on 30-second intervals and stir in between rounds.
  3. Pour your popcorn into a large bowl and drizzle with the melted chocolate using a spoon or a piping bag
  4. Add your Valentines sprinkles
  5. Add the M&M’s and marshmallows right on top
  6. ENJOY!

You can swap the semi-sweet chocolate for white chocolate if you like white chocolate better. Really have fun with it, my kiddos sometimes like to add their own flare with different candy I have on hand.

The Best Festive Fall Holiday Party M&M Cookies

11/17/2017 By Jenn 1 Comment

Today I have another traditional family favorite recipe. These M&M Cookies have been an all year holiday favorite in my family for as long as I can remember.

The Best Festive Fall Holiday Party M&M Cookies

My mom made them as part of her annual Christmas cookies every year. Now I make them for every season the M&Ms come out in holiday colors.

The Best Festive Fall Holiday Party M&M Cookies

This time I made them for fall with their red, yellow and brown M&M’s. My kids LOVE these! I usually wind up making a quadruple batch with the Christmas red and green M&Ms to hand out to family and friends.

They are soft and chewy on the inside and a nice bit of chocolate from the M&Ms. SO GOOD! Better than any chocolate chip cookie in my opinion. But M&Ms are my weakness.

The Best Festive Fall Holiday Party M&M Cookies

My kids love to help with these too, so it is a great way to let the little ones help in the kitchen. They like to top each M&M cookie with some extra M&Ms so they peak through.

My Moms Cornflake Green Bean Casserole

11/15/2017 By Jenn Leave a Comment

For as long as I can remember for Thanksgiving and Christmas my mom made her cornflake green bean casserole. It was one of her favorite side dishes to serve at our holiday get-togethers.

Thanksgiving Cornflake Green Bean Casserole

Since she passed I have carried on the tradition, it wouldn’t feel like the holidays without it.

This cornflake green bean casserole is far from the traditional green bean casserole. I actually never knew others existed since this was all she served over the years.

The cornflake green bean casserole is creamy and cheesy topped with a nice crunch for texture. It’s so good and a nice break from traditional at your holiday table.

Thanksgiving Cornflake Green Bean Casserole

Best part, you can throw this together in no time and it is even better the next day as leftovers. I always make extras since this is one of my sisters’ favorites and she can bring some home.

Cornflake green bean casserole recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 – 5 T Butter
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 2 T Flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 C sour cream
  • 1/2 C cornflakes
  • 2 16oz. cans green beans (French style works well too!)
  • 1 C shredded cheddar cheese

Thanksgiving Cornflake Green Bean Casserole

Directions:

  1. Melt 2 T butter over medium heat and combine flour. Whisk until smooth and remove from heat
  2. Stir in seasonings mix well
  3. Add the sour cream to combine
  4. Fold in green beans and incorporate well
  5. Place into a shallow glass pan ( I use a Pyrex pie dish)
  6. Top with the shredded cheese
  7. Crush your cornflakes and add those on top of the cheese layer
  8. Using the rest of the butter, add to the top in sections
  9. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 – 40 minutes. You want a nice golden brown top
  10. ENJOY!

Have you tried this version of cornflake green bean casserole? Do you have a non-traditional version of a dish your family serves for the holidays?

Like A Boss Series: How To Save Time With Freezer Meals + Printables

11/02/2017 By Jenn 2 Comments

like a boss series

Like A Boss Series = Run your home like a BOSS! Less stress and tips and tricks to help along the way.

Freezer meals can save you so much time int he kitchen! As mentioned in my fall favorites, I started to get back into cooking freezer meals. I do not know why I stopped!

How Freezer Meals Can Save you Time and Money

When my kiddos were little I used to make freezer meals all the time. Especially when I was preparing for a new addition to our family. It was so convenient to know my family could still have a home cooked meal while I was busy with the new baby.

Another benefit, saving money. When I have a bunch of meals in the freezer there really is no excuse for takeout.

There are so many ways you can prepare for making freezer meals. I like to mix it up depending on how busy I am, but here are the two I stick with.

  • Meal plan a week or month and grocery shop once. Pick a day and cook your butt off in the kitchen.
  • Make a double or quadruple batch of tonight’s breakfast or dinner and freeze the remainder.

What I like to do is keep a list on hand of our favorite meals. I do this regardless whether I’m making freezer meals or not.

freezer cooking

I like the convenience of it when meal planning too.  Once a month I will pick a meal from this list and work them into my days. These are the meals I cook to freeze, that way I know my kiddos will eat them. Always a challenge with my picky eater.

When freezing I like to use Freezer Ziploc bags. I find this works best for me however you can use foil pans covered well with plastic wrap and foil. I know many people that use a vacuum sealer as well.

The most important part is to seal whatever you are using VERY well to prevent freezer burn. You can easily do this with a Ziploc by folding over the bag and getting all the air out. Write on the bag or slap a label on them and you are done!
