The summer heat sure is in full swing in South Florida. That means spending many more days outside with my kids and hopefully less time in the kitchen for me. I am always trying to come up with some easy meals that I can use my slow cooker for, during these hotter months. I was given the opportunity to try out a variety of Chek Soda‘s from Winn Dixie. After sampling all of them I decided to use a can of Orange Pineapple soda to come up with a twist on a Pork Fried Rice Recipe. I came up with Orange Pineapple Pork Fried Rice and made it for dinner tonight!
The pork came out tender, juicy and full of flavor. This was the first time I have used soda in a slow cooker recipe before. I was very amazed by the delicious results! It was a perfect light summer meal, that came together quickly and everyone said it was a hit! When all of my kids eat dinner I am one happy mom.
Orange Pineapple Pork Fried Rice
The whole meal came together in under 30 minutes once the pork was cooked for about 7 hours in the slow cooker. This whole meal fed our family of 5 which included 3 kids and 2 adults with a leftover plate enough for a lunch the next day.
Chek Soda comes in 26 flavors including strawberry, peach, grape, fruit punch, just to name a few. They also have the traditional flavors such as cola, orange, root beer, cream soda, lemon lime and plenty of diet versions available. Yo can find Chek soda at BI-LO and Winn Dixie.
