I love starting off a New Year fresh and making new goals. As many of you know my overall healthy lifestyle changed last year. That includes eating better and working out more often.
This year my goals are to increase my protein by eating more of a plant-based diet as it is a healthier option.

My top priorities were eating better and getting to the gym I am happy to stay I have stuck with it and have never felt better. That said you guys know I LOVE my routines and I wanted to share my Healthy Morning Routine hopefully it can help motivate some of you.
I get up about an hour earlier than my kids to start my Healthy Morning Routine.
I find this gives me some time to clear my head and enjoy the peace and quiet before we have to head out to school. This is an essential part of my healthy morning routine, mommas need their me time and this is where I find mine.
The first thing I do when I get out of bed in the morning is make a big glass of lemon ice water. Water is not only great for your skin but when you add the lemon it is great for your immune system and for your metabolism. The older I get I’ll take any help with the speeding up metabolism part. This just wakes me up and gives me a little boost I need.
This is fairly new to me. I am horrible at remembering to take my vitamins, however, if I find myself with the water in the morning I keep them right next to the fridge. Then I remember to take them. Currently, I am taking B6, Vitamin C, multivitamin for woman and L-Carnitine.
Protein Packed Healthier Breakfast
This is the most important part of my healthy morning routine! My go-to breakfast is a MorningStar Farms® veggie sausage with plant protein power breakfast burrito.
I use the MorningStar Farms® Original Sausage Patties, egg whites (only one whole egg), and any low-fat cheese I have on hand. I need something to keep me full and fuel my energy and this does it every time.

Get Dressed In My Gym Clothes
I LOVE the gym but these colder mornings I find it harder and harder to actually go. Making sure I am dressed for the gym first thing. I get on my workout gear including my shoes so I really have no excuse here. As soon as my kids go to school I head to the gym.
My favorite time of the morning. Gym time! I start out with a 10 minute warm-up on the treadmill or elliptical. From there I like to at least get 3 rounds of supersets of weight training. The most important thing for me is to keep my heart rate up and moving for at least 30 – 45 minutes. I find working out is not only good for your body but also good for my mind. It clears my head and gives me a good boost of energy to start my day.
Starting my day off with my healthy morning routine has changed my whole tone for the day. I feel it makes me happier, more focused and frankly a better mom because of it.
