This dish is a perfect comfort food on a chilly weeknight or a to make a delicious and filling Sunday Dinner.This Beef Tips With Homemade Egg Noodles will please the entire family. The noodles are pretty quick and easy, even for homemade, and the beef tips are pretty much set it and forget it.
Beef Tips With Homemade Egg Noodles
- 1 ½ pound sirloin beef tips
- 1/3 beer
- jar beef gravy
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 tsp. Ground black pepper
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. butter
Place butter, onions, and garlic in crockpot on high for 20 minutes and allow to caramelize.
Turn crockpot to low and add in beef tips, and beer.
Cook on low for 4-6 hours, until tender.
Add salt, pepper, and gravy and let it cook for another 30 minutes.
While beef tips are cooking you can whip up a batch of homemade egg noodles to serve with them.
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. Canola or olive oil
- 2 tsp. Salt
(makes about 4 servings)
In a medium bowl stir together flour and salt.
Make a “well” or depression in the center of your flour mixture.
Pour eggs, milk and oil into the center.
Your dough will be sticky, it will smooth out as you knead.
Sprinkle some flour on a clean surface.
Knead dough for about 5 minutes.
Roll out very thin, thinner than pie crust, you want your noodles almost translucent if you can manage,truthfully I don’t usually have the patience to roll it that long, I just get it as thin as I can- these are homemade, rustic noodles after all they don’t have to be perfect.
Let noodles sit for about ½ hour and then cut with a knife or a pizza roller to about ¼ to ½ “ wide and 2-3 “ long.
Drop noodles into boiling water and cook for 10-12 minutes, noodles will float to the top and be fork tender when ready.
You can also prepare these noodles ahead for other uses-allow them to dry on counter for an hour, flip and let dry another hour, place them in a freezer safe zippered bag and store for 2-3 months in the freezer.
