I get to pull out our over-sized sweaters and boots!

Ok, you get the point!

So you know what this means? I am going to share with you all of my easy fall cleaning tips and tricks!

Deep cleaning your home can be so simple if you know exactly what to do before you start.

Many of us get so overwhelmed when it comes to seasonal cleaning but it does not have to be if you have a plan in place.

A lot of people ask when do I start fall cleaning?

That is up to you, there is no right or wrong time.

For me, I like to wait until the kids have gone back to school but right before it gets too chilly. Hopefully at this time I can turn off the AC. Open the windows and get a good deep cleaning while getting some cooler fresh air into your home.

So let’s dive into my 5 Simple Fall Cleaning Tips

1 – Make A Schedule

Pick a weekend, week or entire month of how you are going to get all of these fall cleaning chores completed.

If you are following my regular weekly cleaning routine and/or monthly cleaning routine then fall cleaning should be a breeze!

Making a schedule is one of my biggest deep cleaning tips!

Keep in mind, be realistic.

Just like with any project I talk about make sure you can actually complete the task. That way you will feel accomplished and want to keep going.

Set yourself up for success right from the start.

2 – Get Your Supplies Ready

Take an inventory of your supplies you have before you actually start cleaning.

Make sure you have every single thing you need for a successful fall cleaning.

The last thing you want to do is run to the store for something you may have needed.

If you plan on cleaning your carpets check to make sure you have the cleaner you need.

Fall is a great time to change your smoke alarm batteries too! Make sure you have those on hand and they are the right ones you need.

When we moved into our new home last year I made sure I stocked up on 9 volt batteries as I normally would. Little did I know that some of my smoke alarms requires AA. I learned this the hard way when I found one chirping at 3 am and not a single battery to replace it.

3 – Declutter Before You Start Cleaning

When it comes to deep cleaning tips treat decluttering differently.

Fall cleaning is all about deep cleaning. Cleaning those areas of your home that need a little extra attention.

Before you start tackling your seasonal cleaning tasks, make sure your space is decluttered and organized.

The weekend before I start to work on my fall cleaning I go room by room.

I weed out extra summer clothing that we no longer need or the kids outgrew. I do a quick overview of the closets and drawers in our home.

That way when fall cleaning time comes around I can get right down to business.

If you have a huge organization project to tackle try to get it done beforehand.

4 – One Task At A Time

As I said earlier set your self up for success when it comes to any deep cleaning.

With your schedule in place there is no need to feel overwhelmed you have a plan.

If the thought of seasonal cleaning over a weekend makes you nervous, break it down into smaller tasks over a week or month.

5 – Get The Whole Family Involved

My last fall cleaning tips include your whole family. This is not a one-man job.

Now that my kids are older they can help me when it comes to cleaning tasks around the home but if you have little ones they can help too!

Toddlers will love to help you collect bath mats to wash, or collect those extra blankets that need to be washed.

If you have infants try to get these deep cleaning tasks done during nap time.

Try to get everyone involved, my kids understand since we all live here we all need to pitch in and help.
