Ahh, the holiday season is upon us. This year went by so fast, didn’t it?
I love having holiday get togethers, family and friends over for dinner and out of town guests. It just makes my home feel more cozy when it is filled with extra people we love.
Getting my home guest ready is another story.
I dread the extra cleaning to be honest.
So today I am going to share with you the best holiday prep tips to make this job as simple a possible. The holidays are supposed to a time of relaxing, not stressing.
Ultimate Holiday Prep Tips Every Mom Should Know
Focus On Main Areas Of Your Home
There is no need to clean every part of your home for the holidays. By focusing on the area’s only your guests will see this will free up so much time and energy you can spend elsewhere.
Close the doors to the bedrooms and those extra rooms in your home. No one will ever know!
If you have guests staying with you, focus on the main bathroom and your guest room. I like to free up counter space and cleaning out a drawer or two here as well.
I hide those items in a small tote in my closet labeled preperly to make it easy to put back when they leave.
It will make your guests feel right at home.
Use A Mulipurpose Cleaner
How many cleaners do you use. Maybe three or even eight? During the holidays ditch the cleaners and stick with one product that will do the job.
For this I use BIZ powder. Not only is it great with my laundry but it can be used in so many other ways around your home.
BIZ has become my go to product and perfect for my holiday prep tips.
In The Bathroom:
I use BIZ to clean and deodorize tubs, showers, soap scum, tile & grout, floors, sinks, diaper pails and more. Sprinkle Biz on wet sponge, cloth, or brush. Scrub on surface to clean (for sensitive skin wear gloves). Do not allow to dry. Rinse thoroughly.
Tile & Grout: Just wet your surface, make a paste with water and Biz. Apply to area to be cleaned and let sit 10 min. Scrub with sponge or brush to clean surface. Do not allow to dry. Rinse thoroughly.
Toilet Bowls: Just add one scoop to bowl, mix with brush to dissolve powder and clean bowl. Just let stand for 15 minutes, then flush to rinse thoroughly.
In The Kitchen:
I use BIZ to clean and deodorize counter tops, waste cans, refrigerators, floors and more. Mix 1 scoop (1 cup) Biz in 1 gallon of warm water. Apply solution to dirty surface with sponge, cloth, or mop (for sensitive skin wear gloves). Or, sprinkle Biz on wet sponge, cloth or brush. Scrub on surface to clean. Do not let dry. Rinse thoroughly.
Garbage disposal: All you have to do is pour 3/8 cup (lowest line on scoop) of Biz into disposal. Let stand for 15 minutes. Then flush with hot water while running the disposal.
My biggest holiday prep tips are:
Schedule, Schedule and Schedule
With the extra hustle and bustle I always make sure my whole family knows what the schedule is.
I keep a calander on my fridge for all the important happenings. That way my whole family knows who flys in when and where, when we are baking cookies. All those extra’s get written down.
Now, I take this a step further. Y’all know I love my lists. Each night my husband and I sit down for a few minutes to go over the details of the net day.
From there we look at what his schedule looks like and what mine looks like and divide the extra holiday must do’s to stay on track.
