Like A Boss Series = Run your home like a BOSS! Less stress and tips and tricks to help along the way.

Mornings, you either love them or you hate them. Me? I was NOT a morning person for as long as I can remember. Well, having kids changed that for me and now I love mornings.

why you need a morning routine

When my kiddos were little my mornings became my me time. I would try my best to get up before them and have my coffee while it was still hot. I created a morning routine for myself and the habit stuck.

Now that they are in school, mornings are rushed. Get the kids up, dressed, out the door. I’m lucky if I remember to take my coffee as I’m running into the van to get them to school on time.

I learned that even though they are in school, a creature of habit I thrive on routine. Creating a routine takes about  60 days until it becomes a habit.

My morning routine is not a long list of things to do. In fact, as soon as I walk back into the house after I drop them off I hit the ground running to get it done. It takes me only 30 minutes to complete my morning routine and that creates a peaceful rest of the day for me.

Basic homemaking tasks are simple and can create more time and less stress in your day. Unless you make them a habit you can easily get distracted by the endless tasks we have to get done every day.

My Morning Routine Looks Like This

  1. Make All The Beds – Read More On Why I Make My Bed Every Single Day
  2. Pick Up Any Clutter In the Home – I use a catch-all basket aka laundry basket (I know, I’m fancy)
  3. Start A Load Of Laundry
  4. Empty The Dishwasher
  5. Clean The Cat Box

Once I am done, I have a cup of coffee and some breakfast then head out the door for the gym. Time to switch over the laundry and start working.

A morning routine does not have to be cleaning, it can be anything. Going back to the days when my kids were little my morning routine was to sit with my cup of coffee and read. It can be anything you in in the stage of life you are in just make it a habit for a less stressful day.

If you are a visual person and like lists, you’re in luck I have a printable to create your own morning routine.
