Children like to earn money so that they can get the things that they want. The money might be for a toy or for a new clothing item that parents might not be able to get.
When the money is earned, it can be placed in a savings account or a small bank in the child’s room until the desired amount is saved. There are fun ways that a child can earn money by doing things around the house.
5 Innovative Ways Your Children Can Earn Money
A child will likely do better in school if he knows that there will be a reward. Parents can offer a certain amount for every A and an amount for every B that’s earned. If the child doesn’t make the grades to be paid, then the child would pay the parent. This will teach the child that hard work pays off, and when the work is not done, then there are consequences.
One way that a child can get extra money while cleaning up the community is by collecting cans on the side of the road. A small recycling container can be placed at the end of the driveway as well so that others can place cans inside. These cans are then taken to a recycling center and exchanged for money.
Selling Old Items
The bedroom is a place where a child can make a good bit of money after cleaning. All of the clothes that the child isn’t able to wear as well as any toys that the child doesn’t play with can be sold at a flea market or online. A company like decluttr.com can help turn old and outdated items into cash.
Asking the Community
Some of the older neighbors might need help with laundry, cleaning or walking a dog. This is a way to make a small amount of money while helping someone else. Try to set up a schedule so that the person can depend on the child, and there could possibly be more jobs in the future if the work is done well.
This is an oldie but a goody. Having them help around the house is a great way to let them earn a little cash. I keep a chore chart and at the end of the week if they did completed tasks every day they earn money from me. Its a great way to tech them to be responsible for themselves and to help out the family.
When children earn their own money, they will see that they can be responsible. They won’t have to depend on as much from their parents, and they will usually save the money for something needed if they earn it alone instead of wasting the money on junk.
