So a few months ago I told you guys I decided to increase my weekly shopping budget. I thought it was the kids being home for the summer or maybe I just was not finding the best deals. Ill be honest guys, I sort of got a little more relaxed on the coupons these past few months.
I figured the $25 a week increase should not be a problem and well worth it. After I set my new increased budget I was averaging right at the mark for only a couple of weeks. Fast forward to this past month I have been way below sometimes even my original budget of $100 a week for all groceries and drug store deals.
The strange part is I am not really doing anything different. No extra coupons or crazy freebie deals, or even a big stock pile like I once used to carry. The only thing differently, I started shopping at a few more stores now that I have the time, such as the farmers market and Trader Joes. I am not complaining 😉 I’m just trying to figure it out.
I’m going to be watching it closer and see. Now with the holidays coming the kids are off from school a lot more often so I wonder if it was just because they were home for the summer that they ate more.
Here are my shopping totals this week:
Spent – $87.43
Saved – $90.71
