Happy Friday! Summer is officially over at our house and back to school on Monday. I learned this summer, I crave routine and structure. So do my kids. I am actually looking forward to Monday morning not because my kids were home all summer but just for the routine of our day.
The house seems to run better when I am up earlier, I took advantage of sleeping in on more days that I’d like to admit. This was the first real summer I didn’t have anyone that napped so all the kids learned to sleep a bit later. Monday might be a rude awakening, I am going to start tonight with our new earlier bedtime and waking time in the morning so they have a few days to get used to the new schedule.
We are meeting our teachers today and I finally get to drop off what seems to be an entire shelf worth of school supplies to my daughter and son’s teachers. I am a little nervous for my new Kindergartener. If you remember we had a rough year with him in Pre-K last year. I am hoping this year will be different. He is in the same class as his friend from Pre-K who also happens to be a neighbor, so I am hoping that will help him.
As far as shopping this week, I did pretty well and stayed right at my budget of $100. I got a few dinner type things that were easy to throw together since this week was a fun week with a few later nights. One thing I will not miss the kids is shopping again with just one child at home. Taking all three over the summer seriously was like running a marathon.
Here are my back to school shopping totals:
Spent – $98.45
Saved – $138.94
