- Limit the Activities Your Kids Are Involved In
It’s great to have your children involved in many activities from the soccer team to dance class, but too many activities can be troublesome for spending quality time together. It also means that your schedule as mom becomes busier because you are likely the chauffeur. Pick one or two activities per child, and stick to that. Also try to get kids involved in the same activity, or have them do their activities on the same days if possible.
- Limit TV Time
Many families who spend the most quality time together have strict TV time rules. This is smart because television can suck the time out from under you before you even know it. You should especially make sure that you are not watching television during your meals. Spend this time together, chatting about the day and having fun together.
- Don’t Get Yourself Stuck
It’s easy to say yes to baking a cake for your child’s class or volunteering at a blood drive when you’re face to face with the person asking. When these circumstances arrive, make the choice to tell the person you’ll have to check your schedule first, and you may save yourself a scheduling nightmare.
- Have Appointments Schedule Around You
The trouble with scheduling doctor and dentist appointments is that they are usually only available during certain times of the day, and these times are often inconvenient. Find doctors and dentists who are open after hours, so you don’t have to bring the kids with you, say the professionals at Midtown Dental Centre. Have your spouse or a sitter take the kids while you go to your appointment on the weekend or in the evening so you can attend to their needs and spend time with them during the week.

Another common challenge for many mothers and families is to get enough physical activity in each day. To make sure that you and your family are exercising often enough, make it a family affair. Go for a bike ride, picnic together, join a family dance class or just walk around the block after dinner.
- Get Enough Sleep
Remember that you should be getting at least eight hours of sleep per night to ensure that you are adequately rested. The children may need even more than this. As a family, when you all have enough sleep, you will feel calmer, happier and less agitated with each other during the day.
