Happy Mother’s Day weekend to all the mom’s! We usually celebrate every year by getting professional photos of the kids which is their gift to me. We did that last weekend on Sunday so we could enjoy a little BBQ with my sister and her family, now that she is a mom it’s nice that we can both celebrate.
Mother’s Day is always a little harder that our mom is not here to celebrate with us. She never actually got to see us have children as my oldest was only 6 months old when she passed and she only saw her a few times since we lived so far away from her at the time. I try to wrap myself up in my kids and having my niece here will make it extra special for the day.
I went way over budget this week, since most of it was spent for Mother’s Day. I had to make a BJ’s trip and picked up a few things I normally would not buy along with our normal groceries there. I wound up getting a new BBQ tool set, sprinkler and a few other things for the kids. I am not including those items in my purchase since they come out of a different part of my budget.
I hate when those weeks hit at the same time, great Publix sale (gas card deal) and a BJ’s trip. The totals always look so scary to me. I think one day with 3 growing kids that BJ’s will need to be my main grocery store, especially with them home for the summer. Oh I am not looking forward to those trips!
