All of us can easily say we pack a bit too much when traveling, but this guide will make it a little easier to narrow down what shoes you’ll need on your trips this summer!
Four Summer Shoe Fashions Perfect For Travel
The first shoe you’ll need is a good, substantial pair of flip flops or sandals. If you prefer flip-flops, don’t get a pair of flimsy ones like you get after a pedicure, get a real pair that won’t hurt your feet or fall off when walking around all day. A pair of good sandals are essential to a summer trip, since you’ll likely be wearing them most of the day. Most pairs of sandals come equipped with comfy straps and arch support that will keep you from getting sore feet at the end of a long day.
If you plan on going out when you’re on vacation, you probably want to bring a pair of nice shoes. Wedges are perfect for this! During the summer fashion season, you can get wedge sandals at just about any clothing retailer. These shoes will keep your feet from getting too hot, since they’re still sandals, but they’ll add a little nicer touch to your outfit by having a wedge heel. Plus, platform wedges are easier to walk in than your average stiletto heel!
You can also bring a pair of cute, durable ballet flats. These shoes still look nice while remaining casual. Flats are usually not open-toed which makes them a great shoe for a cooler day on vacation. Flats are still easy to spend the day walking around and can convert to a classy enough shoe to wear out to dinner in the evening. Some flats don’t have any support though which can result in them being painful as the day goes on. When shopping for ballet flats, don’t skimp. Find a good pair made of comfortable material and enough support to prevent achy feet. If you can’t find any flats with arch support, get a pair of gel insoles.
And last but not least, bring a pair of athletic shoes! While walking shoes may not be the cute touch you want for your summer vacation outfits, you’ll be grateful you brought them in the long run. Athletic shoes offer a kind of support that can be hard to find in flip-flops or flats. If you plan on spending all day trekking around the city, you’ll want a pair of athletic shoes to keep your feet from aching or blistering. There are many pairs of shoes that are made to be lighter and breathable that can prevent your feet from feeling sweaty and hot in the summer heat!
Follow this list of perfect travel shoes and your feet will certainly thank you!
