After a relaxing day in Downtown Disney we spent day two and three in the Magic Kingdom. Since having our Disney party this is all the kids were talking about. Within seconds of my kids spotting “the sign”. The excitement was out of control in the car.
We arrived at the Magic Kingdom.
I had a plan in place for both days of what I thought the kids must see’s were at the Magic Kingdom. Of course the traditional Dumbo, Peter Pan, tea cups and It’s a Small World. I under estimated the lines. Oh boy! Over an hour wait for some rides was crazy! Thank goodness for fast pass! Here is a tip, make sure you get your fast passes early, VERY early.
The first day we had no idea they would have such limited spots open and we got to the fast pass line at 10am. The next day we planned ahead knowing exactly what rides we needed and a sort of time frame for them. Being the list maker I am I thought I did my homework before we left, nope. I could have saved up a few hours the first day if I had known to get them early.
We never made it on Peter Pan but that was okay. We did most of our exploring in the new section, Fantasyland. If you have not been to Fantasyland yet, plan on being there for awhile. Especially with little kids. We pretty much stayed the whole first day just in that section. That’s where a ton of the characters are too.
Although my daughter is a ride junkie, she really enjoyed meeting the characters. So did my boys. Their eyes were wide with excitement and awe as we met each one. I do not remember this as a kid, all of the meet and greets were so much cooler than just running into your favorite, giving him a high five, quick picture and your done.
Disney sure does an incredible job of making each person we met a one on one experience. Mickey sang happy Birthday to my daughter! I had tears in my eyes, yeah I know I’m a dork but to see her face! It is something I will never forget.
She was wearing her Birthday Girl shirt but they gave us a button for each of the kids. Make sure you ask when you pick up your tickets. She had a birthday button and the boys had a first time button. So cute! She is my attention lover out of the three, almost every single cast member said “Happy Birthday Princess”, including some guests. She felt so special and it will be a birthday she will never forget.
As far as dining in the park, we brought tons of water and snacks. I tried to look into some reservations before we left but my kids are on the picky side. I could not find a place that everyone would eat from so we grabbed smaller items at the counter service places like hot dogs and pretzels.
Two full days we could have used another day but we were beat! One thing I took away was to schedule a little better next time. There is SO much to see and do and with my crowd it was tough getting everyone’s favorites in but I think overall we still did pretty good. Definitely an unforgettable vacation and birthday celebration.
