Last week started off as normal but Wednesday it went downhill, FAST. That afternoon after I picked up my daughter from school I just did not feel well and by dinner time, forget it I was out of commission. I was battling a high fever and the worst cold I think I have had in a long time.
Nothing is worse than a sick mom. We are the first to run help wipe a runny nose, make soup and give medicine to our little ones when they are sick. Husbands, they get to call in to their jobs and get a day to rest, as they should. Who wants to be sick at the office?
What Happens When Mom Gets Sick?
Well, all hell breaks loose.
Laundry, dishes and pile up. I guess a mom is the only one that knows how to wash anything or use any type of cleaning appliance in the house.
This includes a mop or a broom. Apparently if there are no bugs under the kitchen table the floor is clean after any given meal.
The kids are left to entertain themselves. This is always fun! My kids decided to give their toys a bubble bath and someone wrote the word MOM on my wall. At least it was spelled right since I know it came from my son who is learning how to read and write.
Dad is in charge. Need I say more? All my kids had to say was “well mom let’s us do this or that”, not wanting to let me down my sweet husband believed them. Sure, because I normally let them eat cookies while they are waiting for dinner.
Your daughters hair looks like a greasy mess. Daddy doesn’t realize that she does not have a crew cut and you need to wash the whole thing not just the top.
To my husbands credit he did take off one day to make sure I got the rest I needed. The next day was a blur but I could only imagine what took place with the aftermath messes I had to clean up.
