My last child turned 3 years old in November last year. GULP I still have not lost all the baby weight! Last year my goals were to lose that last pesky 15 lbs. but by April I lost interest. So this year as my husband and I wrote out our 2014 goals I was going to try out my fitness goals again.
I figured out why I lost interest last year. I would do great for a week by eating right and working out. Then the next week my schedule got busier so I ate whatever I could grab heading out the door aka cookies. Then next week go back to eating right.
By figuring out what the problems were and breaking it down into smaller goals this year I will not only lose that last bit of baby weight but this will become a lifestyle change for me.
My 2014 fitness goals:
Don’t drink your calories and drink more water. I am a huge coffee drinker, keeping up with 3 small kids I have become dependent on it. I plan on cutting down my two daily large cups to one and have a glass of water instead of that second cup. Just by switching out that one cup of coffee will save me a ton of calories. The coffee itself is not high in calories but once I add creamer and sugar it’s just as much as a snack.
Have healthy snacks available. By taking the time to cut up my vegetables and fruits, when I get them home from the store or even every night before I go to bed. It will make your life easier. During the day you can grab a container of cut up celery and go. There is no excuse if it is readily available as much as a handful of cookies.
Get moving. Even if it is just running around with the kiddos in your backyard. Take a family walk after dinner. If you have snow in your backyard, get involved in a fun snowball fight with the kids, I’m sure they’d have a blast!
Do you have plans for getting fit this year? If so what are the ways you are going to make it happen?
