If you have children, then you know how expensive extracurricular activities can get. Whether it is a sports, or music lessons, many of the activities require some type of fee in order to join, and you have to buy the equipment required for the activity.
As children enter middle and high school, there are usually not any fees associated with sports unless it is to buy the uniform. The child will have to try out for the sport, which is why there is not a fee. Sports are a great way for kids to learn about good sportsmanship and working with a team.
The only thing that is usually required for art lessons are pencils, markers, and other supplies that are used to create the drawings. Fees are minimal as lessons are often taught in a large class setting. As children learn about detailed art such as ceramics and pottery, there could be additional fees, but they are usually not that expensive.
This is an activity that can be done after school at a local community center. some facilities require a membership in order to take lessons, but there are some classes offered through schools that don’t require a fee. Swimming lessons using the SwimJim method are a fun way to teach children safety while in the water, and at the same time teaching them that water can be a fun place to play. If the lessons are taught in a group setting, then the only thing you might have to pay for is the bathing suit and a small amount for the instructor’s time to teach the group.
When it comes to music, there are a multitude of ways for children to take lessons, and there are several types of instruments to play. Piano lessons are the most common, but they are usually the most expensive. Voice lessons are not as expensive. If you can find someone who is good at singing or playing the piano, you can ask if that person could teach the child instead of going through a professional.
Whether your child wants to participate in a club after school, or play some type of sport, extracurricular activities are a great way for children to learn how to cooperate with each other. They are also a great way for children to stay out of trouble after school. New friends can be made, and children often feel better about themselves when participating in activities.
