You know the holiday season is here when you feel you live at stores huh? At least that is how I feel. I did some Black Friday shopping, well it was on Thanksgiving. Toys R Us opened early this year at 3pm, it was a bit to early for my liking but 3 kids and a budget I had no choice but to go. I am glad I did since I scored some awesome deals! I am happy to report as of yesterday I am done shopping too! I made a printable shopping list earlier this year and it kept me on track and right on budget, actually I am $50 under budget. I am a happy momma. Now all I have to do is bake my Christmas cookies and wrap everything. I think I am much further along than last year.
As far as my food budget goes now that is a different story. I spent about $40 over my budgeted amount of $100 per week but holiday baking does that to me. I had to buy a lot of the basics since I ran our of things like flour, vanilla extract and different sugars a few weeks ago. So I stocked up when I saw some on sale at Publix. I also had to make a small BJ’s trip for a few essentials such as Eggo waffles and some baked goodies. Overall though not to bad I saved almost as much as I spent and with a BJ’s shopping trip that’s not bad.
I do not know what my husband did with the receipts but I have my totals since I plug them into my spreadsheet already.
Spent – $139.51
Saved – $130.31
