These are the cutest little Rice Krispie Treat Pumpkin Recipe that the kiddos would love to help out with. Made with a simple Rice Krispie recipe you can turn them into adorable little pumpkins for Halloween. Kids will have a blast decorating their pumpkin faces. This is a great way for the kids to use some of their Halloween candy
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 package (10 oz., about 40) regular marshmallows or 4 cups miniature marshmallows
6 cups Kellogg’s Rice Krispies cereal
orange food coloring
Tootsie Rolls or small candy bar pieces for the stem
Green writing icing
Black writing icing or candy pieces to decorate the face
Make the Rice Krispie treats as normal, just add a step before mixing in the cereal. Usually a recipe is found on the back of the Rice Kripsie box but you simply melt the butter and add the marshmallows stir until completely melted. Remove from the stove. This is where you need to add your orange food coloring. Once you have the color you like for the pumpkins just add in the Rice Krispies blend until well coated.
Once they are cool enough for you to handle you are ready to start forming them. You can divide them into 12 half cup portions to roll into a pumpkin shape. Or just free hand it depending n the size you want. Make sure your hands have a little bit of butter or cooking spray so they do not become a sticky mess, yeah I learned this the hard way.
When you have all of your little pumpkins made have fun and decorate. Use a chocolate candy or tootsie roll for the stem. Add leaves with the green icing and make cute pumpkin faces with the black icing.
