If you are a new parent, or if your family is expanding, then that two-door car from your teenage years is quickly becoming too small. Every car manufacturer offers a vehicle that is touted as family friendly, but which of these cars are the best?
Best Family Sedan: Honda Accord
The perennial favorite among car reviewers is the best sedan for families. The Accord used to be classified as midsize sedan, but the 2013 model bumped the car into full-size sedan territory. The Accord can haul kids and their gear easily. The trunk can hold 15.8 cubic-feet of sports equipment, strollers, and anything else you can throw in. Safety features like the forward collision warning system keep all passengers safe.
Best Car for Winter Driving: Subaru Outback
Subaru is known for one of the best all-wheel-drive systems available. Paired with winter tires recommended by http://simpletire.com/best-
Best SUV: Buick Enclave
Many parents love SUVs because of their high ground clearance, and ample cargo space. The best SUV for a large crew is the Buick Enclave. Restyled for 2013, the Enclave is loaded with safety features. A rear view camera is standard, and with a vehicle this large, you’ll need it. Side blind-zone alerts and rear cross-traffic alerts help reduce the blind spots that plague many SUVs.
Best Minivan: Honda Odyssey
The Odyssey is the most versatile minivan available on the market today. Seating configurations can be changed based on the number of passengers or amount of cargo. The second row seats can expand 1.5 inches on each side. A multifunction second row seat is available for EX models. The center seat with LATCH system slides forward so that parents can be closer to their child. The seat folds down into a tray with three cup holders.
Best Cars Under $15,000: Hyundai Accent sedan
The “King of Subcompacts” offers many features that buyers would expect on a more expensive car. Safety features include front, front side, and side curtain airbags. Traction control makes the Accent a good choice for bad weather conditions. The interior is spacious when compared to similar models from Ford, Chevrolet, and Kia.
Families have many options to choose from when purchasing a car. Vehicles that offer high tech safety features and lots of cargo space are the best choices. Little touches like cargo hooks make the busy parent’s life a little easier.
